• Fornaroli Makes A Splash At Dolphin Stadium

In typical Brisbane Roar FFA cup fashion, we displayed 120 minutes of unexciting football, then conceded a goal to a riled-up Bruno Fornaroli, knocking us out in the round of 32, once again. Fornaroli won gold for diving early on. The crowd were giving it to him every time he got near the ball. Annoyingly this fired him up enough to score a worldie in the dying minutes of extra time, preventing the game from going to penalties. This meant Melbourne City continue to the round of 16. Perhaps lucky for some, there was a mass exodus of the 6151 strong crowd at Dolphin Stadium at the 90th minute mark,…

  • Off-Season Run Out Happening In Melbourne

A marquee for all and not just the Victory! Keisuke Honda will arrive on Australian soil soon as he has signed the dotted line for the current and 4 times A-League Champions, Melbourne Victory, on a one year deal. A signing that will not only boost coverage towards the Melbourne side but also the rest of the A-league, putting the league in headlines across the world and another step closer to becoming an elite league, such as our European older brothers. Honda, being the former AFC champion of 2011 and player of the tournament as well as a powerful and precious asset to the Japanese national team in 3 World…

  • Matildas On Tour Show The Other Nations What’s In Our Weet-Bix

I thought the World Cup would be the peak of football stress for the year, but man was I wrong. After winning comfortably against Brazil 3-1 to then play the USA and concede our 1-0 lead in the 90th minute, the Matildas really know how to make a girl scream. The Tournament of Nations is a great addition for international women’s football providing a great spectacle, four of the best teams in the world. No surprises – Kerr has done it again – A goal in our 3-1 win over Brazil and a goal in our 2-0 win over Japan. Is it a coincidence the only game we didn’t win…

  • The Magic Of Adelaide United At The Cup

The magic of the Cup was well and truly on display during AUFC’s FFA cup round of 32 clash against CCM, as Craig Goodwin AKA the boy who lived….again at AUFC scored on return debut. CCM exuded an extreme lack of confidence going into the cup, only producing the one FFA Cup Kit knowing that an away kit would not be required post their opening clash. In contrast, Adelaide appeared to cut out the middle man of WSW/Adelaide 3.0 (following Melbourne City) by replicating their FFA Cup home kit on their red and black striped rivals. The magic of the Cup saw thousands of Adelaideans flock to suburban Marden Sports…

  • Mid-Off-Season A-League Wrap Up

Missed what has been happening in the A-League off season? Who is on the A-League roundabout this season, I can assure you it is not just the players but the coaches too. Are people returning to the A-League because they can’t survive overseas, or is the A-League just that awesome and so highly regarded amongst the world? I mean who wouldn’t want to play in stadiums like Marvel Stadium, where superheroes come to play?! I’ll let you decide….. For those of you wanting to buy new team merchandise may I suggest perhaps buying generic teamwear, or inserting your own name on the back because odds are you the supporter will…
